Immigration nightmare. For those of you who have been monitoring our story, the update is cold, and mean. After my daughter's initial rejection of application for residency in Sweden, (where I am a citizen), we hired a good lawyer and appealed the decision. We thought it could not be real that they would let her brother in, and keep her out based on age. But today the Swedish courts have declared that my daughter is not family and cannot stay in Sweden. Reading their summary of reasons is like reading Kafka. What are the reasons for breaking up families? Five years ago this would have never happened, the world is closing its heart.

- Costa Rica has a similar age cutoff. We hired an insider to work the system to no avail. Can’t she apply for permanent residency? There must be a way.
